Meet Camara
Camara started her design career, unlike most Interior Designers. Camara originally went to school for business management and flourished in the Property Management industry before she and her new husband moved to South Florida. Once she started working in the infamous DCOTA, everything changed. Camara was exposed to the very best of the best in the Interior Design Industry and fell in love. Her success was quick. Esteemed designers like Scott Graham and Marc Michaels recognized Camara’s talent for her sophisticate yet timeless designs. To Camara’s surprise, Randy Hein from the prestigious custom furniture collection after her. “Camara Collection” was the perfect combination based on her spunky style and unique design.
After relocating to North Carolina in 2012, Camara discovered her passion for renovation. This was inevitable considering her father renovated homes in Florida and her husband Anthony owns an established construction firm in Raleigh. With years of design experience and her newfound love of renovation, Camara clients find her invaluable to the perfect home makeover.
Camara has worked on unique projects such as the complete renovation of NASCAR travel bus and a beautiful lake house. Camara’s passion for design, whether you are looking for a home facelift to smashing down a wall and creating a new room, Camara’s design goal is adding sophistication of a timeless look to each and every project.
Camara is a mom to 4 children ages 5-17. When Camara is not designing the Triangle, she loves to spend time with her husband and kids, especially on the lake in their Kayaks. Camara is also known for her passion for Kate Spade bags, designer makeup and her go-to clothing store, White House Black Market. If you ever want to know where Camara is, she will most likely be at WHBM boutique or Sephora.

Camara is absolutely amazing. She has a background that gives her a huge edge on anyone in the design and renovation world. Camara has an amazing eye for what works, a willingness to listen, and the business acumen to make sure you get top notch contractors working on your project. She is THE go to if you want the best!

Designing in Phases
SBC makes remodeling and renovations a streamlined experience. With our Process; we provide clients the advantage of design and consultation throughout each phase of the project to create a space that is truly yours.

Phase one, Style By Camara design process is “defining” your vision. Here, SBC will learn about your lifestyle, your preferences, likes and dislikes, your needs, goals, and wishes for your new space. This is essential to creating a timeless look that is also uniquely yours.

Phase 2, we apply our expertise to creating the design for you. During this phase, we will explore options by arranging one (or several) meeting(s) and present you with the new plans for your space(s). Complete with fabric and finish samples, tear sheets of furniture and more. During this phase SBC helps establish a preliminary budget based on the overall design.
After final approval of our “design” plan, SBC schedules meetings with her team to discuss floor plans, elevations and other related items in greater detail. Colors and finishes are refined, furniture, fabrics and equipment are selected and cost estimates are prepared. The resulting design is presented to the client for review, revision and final approval.

In phase three, which we call “The waiting” period + Project management, can feel a bit slow. In phase three, it’s time for things to be built and installed. It can often feel like forever before your home is back to normal. But rest assured it will come sooner than you think. Depending on your project, this phase can last anywhere from 2-4 months per room to be complete. For some high-end products to be prepared for furnishing it takes time to be made and delivered. Which is why we call it the “waiting” period.
During this phase, SBC is often onsite for “the installation” to ensure items are received in good condition, installed correctly, and address any issues that may arise.

For the final phase, “The reveal”, is when everything comes together. SBC schedules a time when you won’t be home to receive and move furniture, place delicate fixtures, hang art, and add all the little details to make it “Reveal” ready.
